Kow Hock Building Materials (M) Sdn. Bhd. was established in 2003 by Tony Goh Lee Tong and his wife, Elaine Lim. The Kow Hock Group is a major supplier and retailer of building materials, hardware, paints, tools, kitchen accessories, sanitary ware and many more. The first is located at Nusa Bestari 2 with only four employees. With the success of the first Kow Hock branch, Tony Goh is more confident and determined to penetrate into the hardware industry.

2022 is Kow Hock Group‘s 19th year. The Group has now developed into 18 branches with 16 of them located in Johor Bahru. With its rapid growth, the company’s lorry fleet has grown to 80 including cranes and trailer trucks. The number of employees grew from the initial 4 to over 200.

Today , Kow Hock Group is focused not only on retailing and supplying building materials and hardware to contractors or home users .In 2019, it successfully established a paint wholesale company to supply paints and hardware to local hardware shops. This company is now Kow Hock Group’s centralize purchase company. This year, Kow Hock Group intends to establish outlets in more locations in Malaysia by way of franchising. The goal is to recruit 30 franchisees within 3 years. With commercial leverage, The Group hopes to expand to more states and expand its foothold to various countries. The primary goal is to be listed on Bursa Malaysia in 2017.

Kow Hock Group believes that the future will be an era of alliances, cooperation and integration of resources. It is cooperating with some well-known enterprises to form cross-industry or same-industry alliances. It will share its resources to benefit from a larger market by integrating its resources.
