Founded by Mr Yap Hoo in 1978, Zolano's passion is to meet the client's need for high-end Italian genuine leather sofas. Zolano began as a sofa frame manufacturer and has since progressed into sofa upholstering. The name, Zolano was then launched in 2004.
In 1998, as a manufacturer specialising in sofa frames, making full set sofas and sofa upholstering, it requires expertise and time to be successful. The company wanted to expand its production and decided to buy a premise and build a factory in Sungai Buloh. This provided an effective work environment which enable the company to explore new markets.
The passion for sofas pushed the company’s interest into sofa upholstery. The flourishing business gave it the courage to start exporting sofas to the Middle East and Australia in 1999. The feedback was amazing and in 2001, Zolano expanded its exports to Europe, Japan, Korea and Singapore.
2004 marked an important year for Zolano, when the name was rebranded. The slogan, Make Your World provides an idea that the living room is the centrepiece of your home, and the sofa is the most essential furniture in it. Zolano is all about making your world complete by improving your living standard. Zolano works closely with different well-known international sofa brands to create more sofa collections as well as to participate in major foreign furniture and home exhibitions. 6 years later, Zolano renovated its factory and brought in new technology into the production-automation.
Zolano participated in multiple trade fairs and exhibitions. It took part in the Malaysian Furniture & Furnishing Fair (MF3), the biggest home expo in Malaysia which provides a platform for the company to help to improve the clients’ needs. It was also involved in the Export Furniture and Exhibition (EFE), an international furniture exhibition in Malaysia that attracts a large number of buyers. Zolano managed to bring its name to the China Guangzhou International Furniture Fair (CIFF), the largest exhibition for design, layout, planning & management of the work space in Asia.
After years of hard work, Zolano finally has its first flagship store at Old Klang Road in 2018. The flagship store aims to provide a unique experience for the customer to discover the brand, products as well as the service from professional team members. Zolano is committed to create personalised customisation service for customers promising quality, comfort and ergonomic design.
