Thomas Neo founded CIRCLE PLACE SDN BHD back in 2010. Initially the business was solely operating mining at the east coast of Malaysia. The services included the operating licensing from government, project planning, mining operating and product sales. Therefore, he is quite familiar with the rules and regulations of local governments authority and land policies. However, as the demand for Malaysia’s mines in the international market got lower, the mining industry seems to have slowly faded out.
As his professional knowledge of underground resources he has been engaged in for many years he understanded the planning of land and forestry is very important, many forest and mining activities are making great contributions to Malaysia’s economy but can also cause damage to the environment. In fact, if the deployment and details of resource extraction are not in place, it will indirectly affect natural disasters. Back in 2014, Kelantan facing huge damage from flood and the Mr Thomas brings his company worker to help up to restore the mess after the incident, this event gave a lot of thought to Mr Thomas, the restoration of forest is composurry, so for his green investment is no only foresee the future of dollar but also can giving the solution of global warming and natural protection a great push. It had inspired some of his previous shareholders so they took this consensus on green resources and environmental protection seriously and they initiated this sustainable reforest plan. It involves the rapid growth tree Albasia and also high value return crops like durian. This ultimate goal is to make this good judgment of the economics scale of farming' mode into a self-sustained investment.
In the year 2022, Circle Place will have 600 thousand trees planted. Every tree is an investment in future tree resources but also a carbon reduction solution for now. This spesis multiple benefits in preventing landslides and protecting water sources. In the market, there are very few wood resources that can grow into economic value and most of the bread of tree will need more than ten-year to reach the level where it is suitable for logging so not many companies in Malaysia can be found in tree-planting projects. The trees in these areas are used as a reference because the environment and climate are very similar. Easier to practice the resilience of the species. In the same year some projects managed under the company also obtained the MYGAP certification from the Ministry of Agriculture Malaysia. All this result is that under the leadership of Mr Thomas and the contribution from the team to meeting the goal together, it gives huge confidence to his stakeholder and shareholder, his belief in green and the willingness of adapt changes attracts more young talents who are enthusiastic and inspired by the sustainable environmental protection industry to work together and make the project even greater. The number of youngsters in this company has taken at least 50%, because the CEO believes in young synergy.
