Swee Kee Hainanase chicken rice story began with a small spark that fired into big influence. The little spark began with an authentic Hainanese chicken rice restaurant – a humble 60-seater restaurant in a neighbourhood area at Taman Setia Indah, Johor Bahru in July 2020, which gained popularity with it’s sumptuous, reasonably-priced chicken rice and local dishes. Spurred by this success, 9 months later both founders Derrick Ong and Fong Yee opened a second outlet at the business district area at Johor Jaya to make Swee Kee restaurant a prominent showcase to the chicken rice lovers.

Staying firm to their belief in creating good food at good value for food lovers, sourcing for the best quality ingredients has always been their obsession. Even now, they visits local wholesale markets to source for quality ingredients when they travels.

Derrick and Fong Yee continues to grow Swee Kee brand, in year 2022 they decided to diversified Swee Kee operations, a new outlet opened at Taman Ungku Tun Aminah to include "煮炒" (home-style cooked food) like Fish Head Curry and Claypot Kangkong etc.

Today, Swee Kee houses a total of 3 restaurants across Johor Bahru serving customers with its delectable food and friendly staff.
