Mr. Macson Tan, a veteran in the conventional aluminum industry was approached by a giant oil palm company to develop a "reliable" aluminum pole for harvesting palm fruit. While conducting research, Mr. Macson discovered that plantation workers faced difficulties in raising the aluminum pole as well as balancing it during harvesting.
It appeared that the conventional aluminum pole lacks the strength and flexibility for harvesting. Now, a seemingly easy task for Mr. Macson soon turns into an almost impossible quest of fusing flexibility and strength into the aluminum pole. However, after countless research and trials, a superial aluminum pole was developed.
This breakthrough pave way for Mr. Macson to establish Mi Global in 2017, catering to the needs of the giant oil palm company. This venture open the door for Mr. Macson to discover the vast opportunities in the harvesting tools market. Ultilising the corporation with the giant plantation company as foundation, Mi Global ventured into branding and new product development.
In 2019, Mi Sickle Pro, a fully machine made Mi Sickle Pro was launched, making it one of the pioneer machine made sickle in Malaysia. With consistency in shape, quality and sharpness, the Mi Sickle Pro became a huge success in both Malaysia and Indonesia.
The success story soon becoming a routine with every new product launched by Mi Global. Today, Mi Global products are known for ease of use, consistency, practicality and reliability. With this, Mi Global vision of become the preferred brand for harvesting tools will be achieved once full market penetration is accomplished.
As Mi Global progress, new challenges and opportunities arise. Severe labour shortage and intake of unskilled workers in plantation create a host of new opportunities with emphasis on ease of use. In order to cater for the new opportunities, Mi Global invested in new factory and production capacity. Moving forward, Mi Global will introduce new power tools, energy saving automobile, robotic harvester and safety products to the palm oil industry within the next 5 year.
