SBH Marine Industries Sdn. Bhd. was established in 2006 and started out with the construction of a seafood processing facility at Kuala Kurau. The facility was designed and constructed in accordance with international standards on Food Hygiene and Safety handling concept.
SBH practises a hands-on management style and is backed by a team of well trained, skilful and profession staff with vast experience in the seafood processing industry. Focus is put on quality freshness, stringent hygiene and safe food handling practices, full traceability documentation system, good manufacturing practices and environmentally friendly production. Its processing facility is fully equipped with the latest and advanced technological processing machineries and equipment and is capable of producing 20 metric tonnes of seafood a day under hygienic conditions and stringent quality control.
Over 98 per cent of the products are frozen for export. Products are shipped to countries including the European Union countries, Korea, Taiwan and China. SBH is one of a very few seafood processing facilities in Malaysia that has obtained approval and certification for exports to the EU Countries, which means that it has met the standards of the highest exporting country in the world. The processing plant is accredited with certifications such as EU 103, HACCP, GMP and MeSTI by Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia and HALAL by Jabatan Agama Islam.
The company’s products consist of both wild caught seafood and aquaculture produce. Wild caught seafood items are segregated into 2 different segments — Crustacean and Cephalopods. Crustaceans are shellfish such as Cat Tiger, shrimps and many others. All the shrimps are of Premium Grade in its natural form, free of chemicals and antibiotics. Cephalopods include squids, cuttlefish and octopus. The wild caught seafood are supplied by local fishermen.
