Koike (M) Sdn. Bhd., with its headquarters at Port Klang, Selangor, was incorporated in January 1992. It is part of Koike Corporation Limited, Japan who owns 60 per cent, and the balance local.
Koike began operations with 3 manpower in a rented warehouse at Port Klang doing packing of heavy industrial equipment and trading of industrial goods. Gradually the company expanded its business into assembly of 2 wheelers automotive parts, warehousing, logistics, global sourcing and trading businesses with turnover of RM360mil per annum in year 2021.
Koike’s mission is to become a conglomerate company with diverse businesses ensuring growth and sustainability besides resilience to any business turbulence. Objectively the company wants to enjoy stable growth for the benefit of all employees and in compliance to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).

Traditionally, Koike’s business is in packing of heavy machineries using the Japan Industrial System (JIS) system. From packing and moving jobs, it ventured into trading business of packing materials and industrial parts to well established electronic companies. Gradually Koike was appointed to provide third party logistic services when its first warehouse and office were established. To further enhance its business, Koike acquired a manufacturing company which manufactured precision parts for various industries including healthcare and semiconductors.
Today the core business for the group is manufacturing and assembly of 2 wheelers automotive parts of Japanese leading brand for domestic market. Over the decades, Koike has built a reputable name in producing reliable quality products and has been recognized by winning the best vendor awards consecutively for the pass 10 over years.

Koike also ventured into design, research and development and fabrication for both interior and exterior automotive parts for the industry. To strengthen the business strategy, recently Koike invested in a piece of property at Teluk Panglima Garang, Selangor where it established a 4PL logistic warehouse and at the same time ventured into machining of automotive parts and chroming of absorber components.
To widen the scope of its activities as an outsource business unit and in trading businesses, Koike optimized the procurement and sourcing activities locally and overseas not limited to motorbike manufacturers, but also expanded to include other industries especially the semiconductors and electronics industries.
In retailing, one of the group’s companies, namely BOK, a joint venture business with Book Off from Japan, with the trade mark of “Jalan Jalan Japan” (JJJ), selling pre-loved goods and new Japanese home appliances and apparel, successfully established 9 retail outlets throughout West Malaysia and is still expanding.
To emulate the success of JJJ, Koike (M)’s latest business expansion is into the retail business. The company has successfully secured branded Japanese fast moving consumable goods of seafood snacks, frozen food, gluten free organic noodles, skin care and beverages to be distributed nationwide. These project is still at the infant stage and currently Koike is looking for joint venture and partnership locally and overseas. Koike will continue its strategy to innovate new approaches in delivering digital solutions to customers by leveraging specifically on digital technology. At the same time, Koike will continue to develop and offer a wider range of new products to the market.
The above milestone achievements have broadened Koike’s portfolio from an outsource company to trading, logistic and supply chain business, manufacturer of component parts and digital solutions; complementing each business unit to create long term business growth and sustainability. It is fulfilling when all business units are highly recognised especially within the automotive industries.

Besides focusing on business expansion, Koike continuously rationalise its operations and drive further on cost optimization to ease the pressure of margin squeeze arising from inflationary pressure. Controlling the operation cost within a reasonable level while keeping sales growth allows further expansion and diversification.
Sales has grown commendably at a compounded rate of more than 15% over the past 8 years. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic where Movement Control Orders and lockdowns were imposed, Koike managed to achieve a reasonable growth in sales during the period. In fact, the slowdown of business activities during the pandemic has provided an opportunity for the management to revamp and aggressively rationalized its operations cost.
