OUR STORY
Sri Minyak Group is a well-known Shell Distributor in Malaysia, which involves mainly in fuels and oils product development throughout Sarawak.Syarikat Sri Minyak Tenaga Sdn Bhd (SMT) incorporated in 1985, started with a small daily capital of RM10,000 to operate the floating badge or also knows as “floating petrol station”. In the 80s when the infrastructures was not well developed, the Rejang River plays the role of connecting the urbans and the rurals. Dato William Tiu, the founder of Syarikat Sri Minyak Tenaga Sdn Bhd (SMT) saw the business opportunities and started with our floating badge to cater for the needs of the river transports. We provide diesel and lubricant services to the river transport operators. Shell Malaysia witnessed the active cultivation and efforts from SMT and they decided to authorise SMT to be Shell fuel and lubricants distributor in Sarawak on the same year. Now, Sri Minyak Group has been in the industry for 38 years, the Group holds a diversified business ranging from fuels and lubricants, transportation of fuel products, oil palms, and processing to property investment and development.

SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT
SOLE DISTRIBUTOR FOR SHELL DFOA AND SHELL B2C LUBRICANT IN SARAWAK.SMT is the only company recognized by Shell for the DFOA (diesel) and the sole LBR (Light Branding Reseller) for diesel in the Sarawak market. SMT is the sole distributor for Shell B2C Lubricant in Sarawak.
MALAYSIA’S FIRST CARBON NEUTRAL FUEL COMMERCIAL SALES WITH NEUTRAL-BASE SOLUTION (NBS)
Shell has a target to become a net-zero carbon emissions energy business by 2050 or sooner, in step with society. As the biggest supplier of lubricants in the world, Shell Lubricants has a large part to play in delivering this.
To assist in achieving this goal, MOU signed recently by Dato William Tiu, Sri Minyak Group Executive Chairman with Mr. Voo Ket Chung, Country Business Manager Commercial Fuels Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn. Bhd. SMT has been a pioneer in active participation in environmental protection project.
SMT was awarded as Malaysia’s first carbon neutral fuel commercial sales with Neutral-base solution (NBS) solution during reseller conference 2022.
Today’s success is not a one man’s dream and effort. It is the team spirit within our corporate and the synergy between Sri Minyak and our customers that won us the recognition.
FIRST 3D MURAL WALL PAINTING AT PETROL STATION IN MALAYSIA
CSR collaboration to support local artist to establish a beautiful mural wall painting in petrol station. It is also a first petrol station in Malaysia with 3D mural wall painting.COOPERATE SOCIAL RESPOSIBILITY
SMT endeavour to actively contribute to the society in which we operate, and run the Company operations in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner in accordance with statutory requirements.SMT valued our Corporate Social Responsible (CSR) to our communities. Every year we organised many CSR events including blood donation campaigns, recycling campaign and special activities for Agape Sibu for the Association for the children with special needs etc. The company will also hold our own activity such as colouring contest to promote ethnic harmony, patriotism and provide the platform for school students to participate.
