Terengganu Silica Consortium Sdn. Bhd. (TSC) was established in 2013 through a Joint Venture partnership between TRG Industrial Minerals Sdn. Bhd. (TIM) and two Japanese conglomerates, Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Tochu Corporation in developing the state of the art facilities pioneering the production of High Purity Silica (HPS) in Asia and Oceania through green-based concept as part of the group’s vision in achieving sustainability.
With a total land bank 2,262 acres with an estimated resources 171mil MT and an estimated mine life of 150 years, TSC became the driving force in materializing the vision of the State and Federal government to develop Terengganu into a Silica Hub through the implementation of Silica Valley as part of the East Coast Economic Transformation Corridor.
Distribution of TSC’s silica products was further reinforced through its own dedicated loading facility named the Terengganu Silica Port, which connects the world through maritime trade networks. The Terengganu Silica Port is equipped with 8th Generation facilities, including the World’s Longest Pipe Conveyor transporting Silica products that measures 3.8km between Plant and Port. The high intensity CAPEX is part of the shareholders’ commitment towards positioning Terengganu Silica as one of the major players in Silica beneficiation and supply. The Terengganu Silica Port is strategically located at the East Coast of Malaysia and connects the maritime route through South China Sea.
Terengganu Silica has won 4 prestigious awards since its inception, comprising international and domestic awards in recognition of its Sustainable and Green concept practices. These awards are the Most promising award - Export Excellence, Malaysia Year 2021; Green Terminal of the Year 2021 - Global Port Forum; Dedicated Bulk Logistics of the Year 2021 - Global Port Forum and ASEAN Mineral Award Year 2019.
