2026

Catalyst Edge AI (CEAI) is a Malaysian AI consultancy based in Petaling Jaya that builds and operates bespoke AI agents and workflow applications for clients across insurance, financial services, professional services, pharmaceuticals and retail.
CEAI’s core differentiation is its approach to data sovereignty, ownership and delivery. Its solutions are deployed entirely within a client’s own cloud environment or an in-country data centre, with clients retaining full ownership of their data and the resulting systems. There are no platform licences or per-user fees, and no vendor lock-in.
An AI-assisted engineering model enables a small, senior team to deliver solutions in weeks rather than the months typically required for conventional development. Governance is embedded throughout the process, including full observability of AI behaviour and costs, documented evaluation before each release, human approval for consequential actions, and traceable provenance for every figure reported by a system.
The company is equally explicit about the limitations of AI, directing problems that AI cannot reliably solve to more appropriate technologies. This emphasis on technical candour has helped CEAI perform strongly in competitive evaluations with technically sophisticated buyers. Its delivery track record includes work for a Big Four-affiliated professional services firm, a national insurance services provider and a Bursa-listed pharmaceutical group. CEAI’s growth model is designed to convert implementations into multi-year managed-service agreements, creating recurring revenue while deepening client relationships. A reusable knowledge-substrate platform now underpins each build, allowing delivery capabilities to compound over time while improving speed and margins. The company is also extending its distribution through partnerships with platform, telecommunications and contact-centre providers.
In the near term, CEAI aims to convert its pipeline into multi-year managed services, establish a referenceable client base across regulated industries and expand its senior engineering bench. Through 2028, its objectives are to secure large-corporate engagements, establish regional delivery capabilities across Singapore and ASEAN, and bring its underlying platform to market as a product.
Priority markets include insurance, healthcare operations, pharmaceutical procurement, audit, logistics and multi-outlet retail. CEAI also welcomes collaboration with systems integrators, telecommunications operators, enterprise software vendors and cloud providers investing in Malaysian in-region capacity.
Sustainability and digital sovereignty are embedded in CEAI’s delivery model. In-region hosting is the default for sensitive workloads, while a right-sized model architecture reduces the compute – and therefore energy – required per transaction. Its no-lock-in approach is intended to transfer genuine AI capability to client teams rather than create permanent supplier dependency, while engineering talent is developed locally.
CEAI has grown 100% year on year without external funding, converting project work into contracted recurring revenue and securing engagements against considerably larger competitors in sectors where governance and technical scrutiny are high. Its growth demonstrates that a Malaysian SME can deliver advanced AI capabilities while allowing clients to retain control of their data, intellectual property and technological independence.
