Keppel Club is a heritage golf club founded in 1904, with more than 120 years of history in Singapore’s sporting landscape. In 2022, the Club relocated to its current home at Sime, where it now operates the Sime Course within the lush Central Catchment Nature Reserve. Designed by renowned golf architect Phil Jacobs, the 18-hole course features long undulating terrain, revetted bunkers and sweeping views of MacRitchie Reservoir, offering both a scenic and challenging playing experience. Keppel Club was recently named Best Golf Course in Singapore at the World Luxury Travel Awards 2025.
The move to Sime marked a pivotal transformation. As part of the relocation, the Club was entrusted with operating Singapore’s first public–private hybrid golf model, with a 40:60 split between member and public tee times. This model was introduced to support Singapore’s national goal of making golf more accessible, while enabling Keppel Club to evolve its business model during its transition from its former Bukit Chermin location and embrace new avenues for sustainable growth.
Implementing the hybrid model required extensive reinvention. Keppel Club redesigned its operations, service delivery and digital infrastructure to serve a broader golfing community. New systems were introduced to meet strong public-booking demand, including digital booking platforms, hybrid reservation processes and expanded online services. The Club further invested in AI-driven marketing to enhance outreach and engagement for both members and public golfers.
The impact has been significant. The hybrid model has broadened access to golf, welcoming new, junior and recreational golfers who previously had fewer opportunities to play at private clubs. By balancing public access with meaningful member value, Keppel Club has contributed to a more inclusive and vibrant golfing ecosystem in Singapore. Beyond daily operations, the Club remains committed to philanthropy and community engagement, championing initiatives that give back to society while promoting golf as a sport for all. This includes hosting national community golf events such as the Keppel Club Community Golf Festival, Pesta Sukan and the Singapore Junior Golf Championship.
Keppel Club continues to strengthen its digital capabilities, elevate service standards and refine its offerings to remain relevant and competitive. By combining a century of tradition with forward-looking transformation, the Club has reinvented itself for a new generation of golfers.
Keppel Club deserves the Golden Bull Award for exemplifying entrepreneurship, resilience and excellence through its pioneering hybrid model, strategic reinvention and positive impact on Singapore’s golf landscape.
